Our public school system refuses to teach firearms safety. It refuses to teach about the history of how weapons have secured the right of a free people to live without the tyranny of the majority or the one who has a bigger weapon. We believe education fosters acceptance. The popular media, socialist politicians, and the teachers' unions have indoctrinated our children with a fear, distrust, and loathing of anything that resembles a weapon. To them, a woman having been raped is morally superior to woman having successfully defended herself with a gun against that rape.
The founder of Stefani Defensive Firearms(SDF) has been using firearms since the age of 5. At the age of 8 he had his own .22 caliber rifle in his closet with ammunition at his disposal completely under his control. Richard Stefani, Founder of SDF, never used his gun in a drive by, school shooting or any other anti-social behavior. Why? For the pure and simple reason that he is normal. That's right folks. Normal people do not think that the use of a deadly weapon is going to solve their emotional problem.
Richard Stefani has had to present/ draw a firearm six (6) times in his life in order to thwart an assault. In addition, Mr. Stefani has successfully detered another two (2) attempted assaults because the thugs saw Mr. Stefani position himself in a "ready to draw" mode. And in none of those instances did he press the trigger. Why? Because the mere sight or anticipation of a gun caused the assailant to back off and quit. This confirms research conducted by Dr. John Lott and others, that over 99% of all assaults are stopped by the mere presence of gun by the intended victim. Research indicates that there are between 1.5 to 2.5 million instances per year where an individual stops an assault by virtue of presenting a gun in self defense.
Richard Stefani has trained at TacFire in Ventura, Calif. He has successfully completed the instructor's program through Suarez International for Low Light Combat He has trained extensively in close quarters combat / close quarters gunfighting / disarming & retention techniques. He has received training from Kyber Interactive under Wes Doss and through Rangemaster Tom Givens in Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Stefani is a Gold First Family Member through Front Sight Nevada. Mr. Stefani is NRA Certified to instruct pistol, rifle, shotgun, and personal protection and an NRA Range Safety Officer. He is a Calif. DOJ Certified Instructor, NRA Certified Instructor, and Oregon firearms Instructor. He is also an Endowment Member of the NRA.
Our goal at SDF is to:
- Teach parents the basics of firearm safety so that they will be the primary source of firearm safety instruction for their children.
- Teach youths via organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America the fundamentals of firearms safety and the opportunities to participate in the wide variety of competitive sport shooting.
- Teach adults the fundamentals of defensive techniques using a firearm.
- Instruct individuals in the most serious topic "the use of deadly force".
- Instruct as many individuals as possible in order to qualify for a CCW (Concealed Carry Weapons) permit. The greater the number of armed, law-abiding, peacable citizens the safer our society.
- We hold the Latin phrase "Aut Sudor Aut Sanguis" - "Either Sweat or Blood". The more you sweat in practice the less you bleed in battle.
